Tim Steel

GDC 71872.
Tim qualified in Newcastle in 1996 and trained in Conscious Sedation in 1998 with SAAD. In 2000 he became a Partner at the Dental Health Practice. Alongside working at the practice, he sees referral cases at Love Dental in York; he is also a Clinical Assistant in Restorative Dentistry at Scarborough Hospital; having previously been a Clinical Demonstrator at Leeds Dental Institute and a trainer to newly qualified dentists.

His special interests are minimally invasive and adhesive dentistry using air-abrasion and ultra-sonic diamonds to minimise drilling. This optimises the preservation of tooth tissue and rebuilds teeth with white fillings and modern bonding techniques. He also has extensive experience in complex root fillings and re-root treatments and in restoring heavily worn dentitions.

In 2019 Tim was awarded a distinction in his MClinDent in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics from King’s College London. This is a 4 year long, double masters degree covering all aspects of restorative dentistry including simple fillings, gum disease, root canal therapy, crowns, bridges, dentures, implant retained prostheses and the material science underpinning all of these.

He has been invited to become a postgraduate tutor by King’s for future intakes of candidates.

Tim is married with 2 daughters and twin sons. He plays Squash and Golf when he can, is a Governor at his children’s primary school and supports Spurs for reasons lost in the mists of time.
